Silver head ornament, Yemen

Old head adornment from the Al-Bayda region in Yemen. This was used as a part of a bigger headdress hanging at the back of the head.

Made of low-grade silver (probably between 500-700/1000) and glass.

From mid 20th Century.

According to Marjorie Ransom, this is an unusual headpiece.

Height (with the piece at the top): 16 cm
