Amber earplugs, Burma (Myanmar)

Amber earplugs, worn by Burmese women in the 19th century, called patlokan. Pointed versions are still worn by Kachin people in Burma.

This reddish amber, or burmite, was formerly found in deposits in the North of Burma (Myanmar).
