Chin ear ornaments, Burma (Myanmar)

Pair of Chin ear ornaments, worn on extended earlobe holes (see last picture). These are rarely seen now out of museums or private collections.

The Chin people are an ethnic group native to the Chin State and Rakhine State of Myanmar. They are culturally close to their neighbours the Naga people.

Made of gourd, glass beads and bone.

From approx. mid 20th century.
