Old coral and silver necklace, Yemen

Four-strand Yemeni necklace, with silver dangles hanging from the central rectangular medallion, which is nicely worked with filigree. The four strands are made of genuine coral beads and massive silver beads. Some Indian silver coins with dangles hang from the fourth string. The two triangular ending silver beads are also nicely decorated. It ends with a silver chain, that can be easily fastened with a hook. It’s an old and worn piece and silver has a great patina.

From mid-XXth century or earlier.

The central rectangular pendant measures 3 x 2,5 cm (1,18 x 0,98 in). The length of the necklace (including the chains) is 41 cm (16,14 in) and weights 190 gr.
