Old Ethiopian / Somalian silver and amber beads
A set of four Muria beads strung with amber beads (probably pressed amber), from Ethiopia. These silver beads are Ethiopian from the Ethiopian/Somalian Ogadin region.
The silver beads are from the beginning to mid 20th century, pressed amber beads probably from mid 20th, when the technology to make them was mastered.
The previous owner collected the necklace in Ethiopia in the 60´s, now temporary re-strung.
The silver beads show age and some remains of gilding, 3 of them are damaged on the holes because of wear. They all have a fine and delicate etched decoration.
