Miao silver bracelet, SW China

Man’s solid bracelet, with two dragons’ heads with curled horns, a ball in either mouth, from the Miao community in SW China. This kind of bracelets evokes the primordial ancestor Panhu, the man-dragon-dog.  According to Anne van Cutsem, similar bracelets are worn by the Yao people.

Beginning of the 20th century or earlier.
