Old Rajasthan necklace, India
Silver pendant -amulet from Rajasthan, made of high-grade silver and filigree decoration. There are small silver bells all around the square pendant that makes a soft jingle when moving. The three small pendants on each side are finely embossed.
First half to mid 20th century.
It is not clear if the image on the pendant is handpainted or a reproduction. It usually depicts gods or goddesses of the Hindu pantheon.
All the elements of this necklace are old and worn, and it still keeps the old string. Silver has a great patina.
The size of the pendant is 6 x 6,5 cm -without the small bells- (2,36 x 2,56 in). The necklace is adjustable with a slipknot.
