Pair of Bedouin bracelets, Saudi Arabia
Pair of bracelets from the Nadj region in Central Saudi Arabia. These are solid heavy bracelets! According to Coyler-Ross, the projections as design element are claimed as south-eastern although the bracelets from this region are hollow.
Such heavy bracelets made of high grade silver were authentic dowry jewels. It is not easy to find a matching pair, as, in time of need, a woman may have decided to sell one of the pair to pay for needed investment or health bills.
