Pair of ivory bracelets from Flores, Indonesia

From the Lamalohot people of the Flores Island, Indonesia. These bracelets are part of the dowry exchange. The young wife had to wear them until entering the house of his husband’s family. Bracelets like this were still in use some decades ago.
