Kerala silver amulets belt, South India
Old high-grade silver belt from Kerala, South India. Nine amulets and other silver beads are strung on a thick “snake” chain. The chain on one end is used to adjust the belt to the desired size. According to Anne Leurquin, the small pendant with a jasmine bud shape has an apotropaic meaning.
