Old Sumba Ivory bracelet, Indonesia
This Sumbanese bracelet, worn by men and women alike, is easily identified by its graceful form and triangle decoration with dots. This particular deep patina is reached after years of handling, offerings and the dye leaching from ikat textiles used to wrap them between ceremonies.
Age: 19th century or older. The object has been examined by an ivory appraiser and has a certificate stating that the ivory predates 1947.
In very good condition, with no chips or damages.
