Turkmen gold ornament, Central Asia

Turkmen women of the Olam, Elec, Mukry Chatab and Eski tribes wore a low turban to which this gold ornament is attached above the eyebrows. This ornament is called chatab.

From the 19th century.

Gold content between 14 to 18 kt, with very fine granulation, turquoises recently set.
