Old Labeh silver necklace, Yemen

This kind of necklaces where used with regional variations all over Yemen. This old example, made of high-grade silver and delicate filigree is most probably from Rayma or Saada area.

Despite the age (end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century), it is in very good conditions, and there are hardly any components missing. The necklace is backed with a red cotton cloth so it could be worn comfortably and to avoid losing the small parts, that were sewn onto the fabric.
